China's large span and space structure building develop rapidly

In recent years, China has been in the period of large-scale construction, and a large number of construction projects with novel engineering shapes and reasonable structural forces have been built around the country, especially some projects with complex structures have carried out a lot of calculation, analysis and experimental research. In order to give full play to the enthusiasm and innovation of building structure designers, improve the design level and engineering design quality of building structures, and promote the healthy development of the engineering structure design industry, with the support of the Department of Engineering Quality and Safety Supervision of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Architectural Society of China, The Building Structure Branch of the Architectural Society of China planned and specifically undertook the 7th National Excellent Building Structure design selection activity. The selection activity has been actively supported and participated by provincial, municipal and district design units, and a total of 166 projects have been received. There are three characteristics of the declared projects. First, there are many declared projects, and the declared project units involve a wide range, including large design institutes in large cities and small and medium-sized cities. Second, the content of the declared project is rich, the structure system is novel, the type is complete and complex, and many structural systems are between the two structures; Third, in recent years, the world has paid attention to many projects, such as the World Expo project, the Olympic project, and the Guangzhou Asian Games, Shenzhen Universiade project. It can be seen from the number of declarations that large-span and spatial structure buildings have developed rapidly in recent years, accounting for 50% of the declared projects; Sports venues, railway stations, theaters, and exhibition centers of large-span and spatial structures are developing rapidly. Subway stations, transportation hubs, earthquake isolation, and reinforcement of industrial buildings and special buildings are also developing rapidly. In each type, a variety of new structural systems with reasonable use and economical cost are presented.


It is reported that in order to ensure the openness, justice and fairness of the review work, the 33 members of the review committee are long-term engaged in building structure design, research and teaching senior experts, some academicians, some national design masters, as well as famous professors and structural engineers, with a wide range of representativeness and authority. Finally, Jinan Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Expo Axis and Underground Complex project (ceiling structure), 2010 Shanghai World Expo Theme Pavilion, Shenzhen Universiade Center Main Stadium, ordos Dongsheng Stadium, China Maritime Museum, China International Trade Center Phase III Project (Phase A), National Museum of China Renovation and expansion project, Nanjing Drum Tower A1 Block Project (Nanjing Greenland Zifeng Building), Dameisha Vanke Center, Huangzhuang Station of Beijing Metro Line 4 and Line 10 Project, Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, Shanghai 500 kV Jing 'an (Expo) Power transmission and Transformation Project, Jinan Olympic Sports Center Main Stadium, Suqian Customs Business Technology Complex Building, National Tennis Court, China Minsheng Bank Building (renovation and expansion), Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Comprehensive Gymnasium, swimming and diving hall and tennis center won the first prize; 33 projects, including the China Petroleum Building, won the second prize; Henan Art Center and other 49 projects won the third prize.




This event is jointly sponsored by the China Academy of Building Science, the Building Structure Branch of the Architectural Society of China and the high-rise Structure Committee of the structure branch. The conference also carried out academic exchanges, including invited special reports, introduction of award-winning projects and high-rise building structural design and research. During the meeting, the board of directors of the building structure Branch and the high-rise building structure professional committee meeting were also held.
